My 5-year-old set up gbpvr to record backyardigans. Came home from preschool and just couldn't wait to watch it. We heard this scream of terror from the living room: "Mom, dad... I can't find backyardigans!!!" Her whole world came crashing down...

However, backyardigans had been recorded. But in recordings its name was "Psycho"... We could argue that GBPVR is right in that, but... :p

I know... logs and such... I'll attach them if it happens again, just wanted to report in case anyone else has seen it happen... I haven't seen any previous reports, though...

By the way, in the EPG, the name of the show was "Backyardigans"... not "Psycho" Wink

I've seen a few reports of this. I'm not sure what the cause is, but I'm looking into it.

(I suspect its somehow related to the TV Guide screen not automatically reloading its listings every few hours, and instead continuing to show listings that might have been loaded a few days go, then when the user goes to record it uses a show id that was correct when loaded... but the epg has now be updated and the id points to some other show. That my theory anyway.)

Ok... as long as you know about it I'm confident it will get solved Wink Holler if you need any logs or other files.

might be different but heres what mine did last night
with daylight saving starting and my tv listing all going to crap having to change sources etc
the epg was wrong and in reoccurring i have it set to record "nine" whenever its on
so the wrong epg data was loaded but the pending recordings had already loaded its time to record in that slot
when i updated the epg to be right it showed "mcleods daughters"
so it recorded that but aswell as that it recorded a show called nine but when played back it was "mcleods daughters"

how many tuners do you have that can record that channel at that time?

Two. But the show name that got used in the end was a show that was on about 6 hours earlier in the morning (on the same channel). Or 18 hours later the next morning Wink I don't think the EPG data was wrong. We haven't changed back to standard time from DST yet.

I get that too, quite a bit. I don't have any season pass recordings; I set the recordings every day, with a max lead time of about 24 hours but usually only 10 or so. Two tuners, both the same kind. A show will record properly, but on probably one out of four or five recordings the name will be for something an hour+ off and on a different channel.

I deleted and reloaded the EPG in the last day or two, it still does it, and the shows always read correct in the TV Guide when I set them to record. Strange, to be sure.

This has happened to me half a dozen times or so. On the weekend I did a complete rebuild/reinstall (it was needed - upgraded GBPVR many times on same system) Now it hasn't happened again yet , but I have only recorded 2 shows since the rebuild. Very similair problem though , set the recording , the show name is right on the guide and shows up properly in the pending recording screens, the show records and has a completly different name in the Recording page. Right show was rec'd but the title changed. I have noticed that when this happens it is always a show title that is normally on the same channel I recorded on. I figured it must have been "bit rot" in the DB fromall the upgrades/zap2it/schedulesDirect etc so that is what prompted the rebuild.

I have found shows that I regularly record in the folders of other shows I regularly record using the name and episode of the wrong show. I have not had a show record under a name that I do not record. I mostly have season passes, and only rarely add specific shows to record.

I usually only notice this when I plan to watch something and find that it is something else. I've had 3 or 4 of these since the new version.
