Recently purchased a GeCube Radeon HD2400Pro AGP. However when I installed the drivers supplied with the Card, all the screens of PVRX2 are showing corruption, either the same entry appears twice slightly overlaped on each other or the text is replaced by horizontal lines. I am unable to supply a screen shot as i am at work.
I then updated the drievrs to the latest catalyst version, 7.9. Then got the error "System does not support VMR9". The Omega drivers dont work ither.

I then reinstalled windows and the supplied drivers and the same issue is still present.

Any ideas?

What happens if you change your aspect ratio? (Press F7 to cycle through aspect ratios.)

This sounds a bit like memory corruption, especially since other drivers aren't changing anything. There is no attached screenshot though, so we can't be sure.

Its annoying these ATI HD 2400/2600 devices sound so problematic - on paper they sound just brilliant for HTPC setups. Hopefully ATI will sort out the bugs soon.

I dunno...I have an HD2600XP that seems to be working fine. I'm using the latest GB-PVR, the drivers off the CD, Purevideo decoder, AC3filter over a DVI-to-HDMI cable into a Viewsonic LCD at 1080i. It was pretty much load and go. I haven't gotten the sound over HDMI to work yet but haven't really messed with it much yet. I'm driving my Dell LCD monitor with the other port. The Dell is primary and the TV is the second. The box it's in (an HP dx5150) is running as a client. So far I've been very pleased with it...the picture quality is really good. I recorded and watched the entire 'The War' series in HD...lots of action there...and didn't notice anything untoward. Best part is that the HP and the 2600 were given to me by a friend.

i dont think its the HD stuff the card does badly i think its the deinterlacing of the SD stuff from the picture im gettting
that and i think the analog out screws it over aswell so maybe if i had a lcd i wouldnt be seeing my problems
another thing i have noticed is it cant do 50hz it seems more made for the ntsc market than pal to me(which is another reason on a lcd you wouldnt see the probelms as much as far as i understand how it all works)
what country are you in ZED?

I'm in the U.S., Arizona to be exact. I haven't watched much SD on it but I don't remember any particular problems with it, so yeah, it could be that it works best with 60 Hz and NTSC. Only thing I've noticed is that it sure pumps out the heat.
