I'm using latest version (1.0.16) of GBPVR with my MVPs. Everythings been going fine till the last few days when the has MVPs have suddenly started to exit from playing recorded files.

The dedicated server (windows XP) shows a typical Microsoft "Sorry" message error:-

EventType : clr20r3 P1 : gbpvr.exe P2 : 1.0.2782.16263 P3 : 26
P4 : system P5 : 2.0.0.0 P6 : 461ef191 P7 : 2bc3 P8 : 17
P9 : system.net.sockets.socket

It's always the same error. There's no trace of anything in the log files to give a clue either.

Any ideas?

Could it be a firewall turned on, e.g. by windows updates?

Or damaged config.xml, you wouldn't have edited it by any chance?

I have my server set for manual update install and no updates have been done in the past few weeks.

Router hasn't changed since bought (1 year ago). In fact, as far as I can tell, I've changed absolutely nothing since I updated to v1.0.16 (just after it was released) but this problem of crashing during playback has only started in the last couple of days.

Could you ensure that you have enabled log flushing and upload your logs. Also does this happen with PVRX2 as the mvp server?

Ok Log flushing enabled and this time there's an error at the end of the log.

It's random as far as which file it is and it's not consistent at to where in any file it halts.

Sometimes you can play the files right through. Othertimes it will dump the MVP and the MVP will reconnect back at the menu.

The files are recorded off the TV the same as they've always been. I've checked the record settings and nothings changed from before the problem started.

Log file attached,

Does it behave any different if you use the default blue skin?

hmmmm, this sounds familiar.....I had this problem - found on two of my machines...gbpvr server included one of the windows updates i did at the end of August screwed my tcpip stack - under a bit of load (< 10%) it would stop responding to the network for a couple of minutes... Putting in the second NIC card didn't help (thought it might have been hardware)
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=29601

Never did figure out exactly which update caused it, but have narrowed it down to 5....a mate of mine suddenly noticed the same problem so I gave him a list of updates on my newly fixed machine in the hope that we can figure out which one it was.....

Sub,
I've been using the Community skin for ages before this problem started so wouldn't think it's that.

Will try again with the blue skin. What made you suspect the skin

Psycik,
Yes it does sound similar (and er indoors is now giving me grief saying is that me messing with the server? Sad )

I'll have a look back in the log to see when the last patches were MS applied.

Nothing solid, but non-default skin is a common cause of faults so worth checking, and there were some skin messages immediately prior to the error in the logs.

In reality, I think you'd be much better off moving to the new PVRX2.exe MVP server. Its much more solid than the old GBPVR.exe MVP server, which had several bugs that could lead to disconnects.
