For some reason, my fast forward and reverse (Ctrl-F, Ctrl-D) are not working. The skip forward and reverse work just fine (60 second skip). If I remember correctly, the fast forward and reverse should skip 10 seconds. Also, the record button on my remote (mapped to Ctrl-K) does not do anything. To record a show that I am watching, I need to exit Live TV and go into the TV Guide and select record from there. Is this something that just has not been implemented in the new GUI interface yet? Or did I somehow change something in my configuration? I should note that the problem is not in the remote - FF, REW, and REC also do not work from the keyboard.

I didnt bother implementing the old style FF/RW, so you need to have "use short skip instead of FF/RW" enabled in the the config app.

I'll double check the Ctrl-K a little later, but it should be working.

Thanks sub. I must have missed that setting in the config app.

Hi,

I am trying to get v1.1.5 working and after a few bumps, related to versions of the Hauppauge drivers, things are largely working.

My scenario is that I have my desktop monitor and TV both connected to my PC. The idea is that we can use the PVR functions while I work on the PC. So my wife can watch TV while I read emails. I have just bought an HVR-3000 and are using Freeview DVB-S.

For this to work I need the remote to work even though PVRX2 does not have "focus". I have installed the Hauppauge software and I can get this to work - well almost.

Whilst most of the buttons work under this scheme the record button does not. When I press the REC button it appears in the PVRX2 log but the application just ignores it. If I give PVRX2 focus and try <ctrl>K this works.

I have done a fresh install of the Hauppauge software and if I run the Hauppauge IR and then start PVRX2 the record button works - of course under this scheme it is being managed by the Hauppauge IR.EXE.

I have done quite a bit of research but not found anything that resolves my problem. I am posting to this thread because it comes pretty close to my problem.

Anyone got any ideas, I would much appreciate it.

just a thought while im falling alseep on the train - but have you checked the mappings in the IRREMOTE.INI file in c:\windows just to confirm the pvrx2 section is created and has all the buttons set.

Sorry I should have attached the logs earier.

As I said this scenario is when the Hauppauge IR is not running and GB-PVR is accessing the remote directly - using "irremote.DLL", I believe.

It also appears that the buttons effected are any buttons that use <ctrl>, so that's record, pause, prev channel etc. If I give PVRX2 focus and try <ctrl>K, for record, or <ctrl>Q for pause, using the keyboard, it works - BTW I just retested these now.

In "pvrx2.exe.log" it looks like pressing the record button generates the following :

2008-02-26 20:51:27.998 VERBOSE [5] key: 75
2008-02-26 20:51:27.998 VERBOSE [1] No key mapping found for: K
2008-02-26 20:51:28.078 VERBOSE [5] Hauppauge remore direct access got: 183

The "use direct access to hauppauge remote" setting is only compatible with PVR250 and PVR350 cards. You shouldnt be using it with you HVR3000.

There are other mechanism described on the forums for how to have the app still controlled by the remote when it does have focus. (changes to irremote.ini file)
