I have just upload a new alpha dongle that should address some of the sync problems in the Sept. dongle.

Also I changed some code which I think makes the menu responses a little snappier but I don't really use emulation mode enough to really tell, so I'd like some feedback on this

Hi Martin,

I did a little testing on your new dongle, sofar I think it's perfect, it really looks snappier. Did a lot of channelchanging, changing songs in musiclib2 etc. no problem at all. Specially the changing songs in ML2 was very quick, as good as instantaneous. So I'll keep it and we'll see if any problems come up.
One thing I noticed: the miniguide is still very slow, ~2 secs to go to the next channel in the list, that is without changing channel, you understand what I mean I hope.Smile
All in all a very good release I think.

Hello Martin,

The new dongle is giving me trouble. The first mpeg file I played, the audio went out of sync after skipping. It's a Hauppauge PVR500 recording and it's playing fine with the september dongle.

I'll try that too, I might have forgotten to do that. It'll be tomorrow before I get access to the machine.Wink

Sheik, could you try with a new command line --no-jit-sync to see if your new problem is cause by mvpmc's mux. This puts it back to the August dongle. FYI, your Max and Loretta video was used to prove there was problems in the last demux.

Hans, OSD is my bête noire. I had to add code to play .srt fles that slows it down, and I don't know what to do to fix it. gbpvr is sending too much data, including the same screen that isn't necessary and I don't how to slow it down. sub will probably need to help me to make this better.

Well if were up to me I wouldn't bother Wink , I never use the mini-guide. I only use the mvp for music and for watching recordings. But I guess that's not what this is all about.Big Grin

Martin,

Today I watched a show with the default settings and I didn't have any sync problems. Unfortunately I deleted the file that gave me trouble, so I'll just test this new dongle some more. As soon as I see the problem again, I'll try your --no-jit-sync suggestion.

Nice to see that Loretta is starting an international career Big Grin

Hi Martin,

i did some "heavy" testing with this dongle: I started playing a recording and skipped forward/backward a lot of times (at least 30 times in maybe 30 secs) also some skip-x-minutes , I couldn't get it to loose sync.Smile So I can only say again: a very nice release.

Thanks, guys. It's making me feel more comfortable with a 0.3.4 release, I hope to hear feedback especially from those that might be having problems with their MVP on Vista or XP. This one feels closest to the Hauppauge dongle of all I've built and I'd like to point at other causes then PVRX2 and the dongle.

Are you both using the Net Radio patch by any change?

Sadly my trial with ML2 did terminate on its own after 60 hours with the same collision I've been seeing for all of 1.x mvpmc is getting the request to play a new song in the middle of a screen saver update.
