Hey,

I live in Brazil and I´m having trouble with the accents and foreign characters when using postprocessing batch files (especially stattik transcode and the supersimple archiver).

It isn´t something I can easyly correct inside the batchs, because GBPVR uses UTF-8 in the database, the filesystem uses latin1 and the batchs search for ASCII characters. That´s a lot of mess.

If there was an option for GBPVR to generate the recordings filenames and foldernames without the "extended" characters, it would be a lot easier to manipulate the files.

It already does that for the files generated for livetv preview, so I think it´s possible. Isn´t it sub?

It sounds more like a problem with your custom PostProcessing.bat file rather than GB-PVR.

That´s the exact point. Batch files will never be able to do good jobs with accents and extended chars.

The filename is created using latin1 (windows 1252) codepage, the batch file expect it to be 850 (ANSI or ASCII) codepage, and GBPVR database stores then in UTF-8.

All those codepages are different only for the extended characters and accents, if we don´t have it on the filename the plain text chars are the same for every codepage. Much easier.

Really It´s not a problem with GBPVR, but since it could be a VERY usefull change, I asked it here.

Ok, but I can only give you a "maybe" at this stage. I'm pretty busy at the moment, so trying to not commit to anything I might not have time for.
