Got a CompUSA close by you? $99 gets you either a PATA or SATA 500GB hard drive. By the new year, it's like the 750GB drives will be nearing the $100 mark. Gotta love it!

Fry's had same drive for 87$ till last tuesday... [since last friday]
i picked one up plus an external version for 117$
[couldn't pass that deal up, Maxtor 500gb sata300 16mb 7200 for <90$]
the external was a Maxtor 1touch3 model...sweet..

quad core + MB $268 this week..
or an E6550 +MB $188 EDIT: ooops wrong price on 6550
E2180 + SLI mb $99

I wish we had a Fry's. I hate CrapUSA and only go for the really good deals. I"ve got almost 2 Terabytes of hard drives between what's in my system and some externals and don't need more now but some things are hard to say no to. Kind of like my wife and shoes. Can you ever have enough?

They put more and more of the deals online every year. I remember lots of people standing in line to get in on whatever HDTV deal last year when they could have just ordered it online as early as midnight.

I sure hope there's some big hard drive deals. I'm trying to hold out till then.

i was in front of best buy at thursday morning 10am last year.. 3rd in line.. and got every single thing I wanted, and then some.

its really not that bad.. just bring a lawn chair and a blanket.. you end up becoming buddies with the other folks there and we all had a great time. even went down to the theater in the same shopping complex to watch a movie, hehe.
