I've seen some posts lately where folks were a little dejected about this fine program.

I just want to offer this to those who are getting a little frustrated... it's worth it!

It's a free program, with a great community. Have some patience, and we'll work to help you out as best we can.

Many of the folks here are very clever, and have done some great things, but we don't all have the same setup. (One of the bonuses of this!) It may take some time for your answers to come, but believe me, it's worth it.

I agree with the statements above. My son originally set up my system but is no longer available to make the upgrades, etc. As someone with less than average computer skills, the advice and help from this forum has let me do the required maintenance myself and even branch out to plugins. The flexibility of the system and its capabilities are tremendous. Even if you don't have a lot of computer knowledge, you can likely get the system set up the way you want.

i just can agree. comparing the program and the help offered here in this forum with other "competitors" then i have to say that this one wins by far.

This is a very timely post as I am about to give up.

Last night I followed the suggestion given (in all likelihood a good one) to cure my loss of video and audio on a new install. The result was that other capture apps that had been working no longer did. they were as dark and silent as GB-PVR.

I did a system rollback and brought everything back and decided that this was not worth it.

I'll reconsider that in light of this post.

Thanks.

One of the most difficult things for me in a time line yours is to know how to describe the problem fully. I know I need to post the logs, probably with flush enabled. I know I should try all the options of video decoders, etc. and check for patches, but I always seem to miss something.

I hope you describe your problem in more detail so someone can help you.
