The most popular scripts are ones that display online video. Your Youtubes and the like. A lot of work has been done there that gbpvr could take advantage of.

It would be easier to write plugins from scratch. There are already several plugins that will display web videos. If a website changes, the plugin breaks and hs to be updated though. The same will happen to the xbmc scripts.
