Im having this problem when I enable "allow this devise to bring the computer out of standby"(lan card) then I have to tick
"only allow management stations to bring this computer out of standby" otherwise my PC keeps waking up at strange hours.
When its ticked GB-PVR cant wake up my PC . My question is whether its possible to make a script to wake up GB-PVR via wol when you wants to record a program . It would help just about anyone who is
using GB-PVR and having this problem.

GB-PVR shouldn't be effected by the LAN card settings to wake the PC. When a recording is scheduled GB-PVR asks Windows to be awake for that time. Sounds like this functionality isn't working for you.

What OS are you running? If you schedule a program to record in 30 mins and then standby the PC what happens?

Agreed with the above, and to emphasise one thing that has caught me out in the past.
When experimenting with standby/hibernate/wol/gbpvr do not set things to happen too soon. If trying to set a recording to wake up, make sure it is 30 to 60 minutes in the future - I found if you set thinsg to happen in only 5 minutes or so you get bad results.

WOL is only needed for a client to wake up the server - it should wake itself for recordings and EPG updates - this is a Windows function that gbpvr requests.

one thing you can do to 'force' the rec service to ask windows to wake up is after scheduling the recording, wait a bit then restart rec service....first thing it does when coming back is ask windows to be awake for next recording...
otherwise it's on a timer...
[or you can look in rec service log to be sure what it's scheduled]
