Hi,
I am looking for a way to get rid of the delays that occurs when sending the mvp remote control commands using the MVP to the GBPVR MVP server that resides on the PC.

What I had in mind is a wireless remote to control the PC directly. This means that GBPVR will have to be controlled when it is streaming to the MVP.

My question is if anyone on this forum have any ideas on how to do this or if there is no way of remote controlling, then getting rid of the delays.

I know that network optimization will help. But I have some settings in place for that.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry, I dont think there is much you're going to be able to do.

Each time you press a button the following happens:

1. MVP detects button press
2. MVP sends button notification across the network to the PC
3. PC acts on button press
4. PC draws new screen image
5. PC converts image from RGB to YUY2
6. PC compresses image
7. PC sends new screen image across the network to the MVP
8. MVP decompresses and shows new screen image.

The steps that take the majority of the time, and dont occur when you're just using GB-PVR on the PC itself, are steps 5 - 8. A fast processor in your machine, and good network connection (ie, not wireless) give you the biggest improvement.

Thanks Sub,
Is there a way to set the GBPVR and MVP server processes and threads to top priority on windows XP?

Would that help with timing?

Thanks

Just to add to what sub said, I've done some testing and I've send 20+ ignored keys to GBPVR in a seconds so processing and sending keys is not the bottleneck.
