Hey, first of all want to say that the new renderer (EVR) fixed all my jitter problems, and the new version seems a lot more sleek in general, mostly. Having said that, I'm having the following problems with the new version:

I had configured my config.xml to use my Elecoder MPEG2 Decoder package for playback. Now the audio codec shows up in the config.exe app, but the video codec no longer does. Checked the config.xml file, and it was still listed there, so not sure what happened.

Secondly, If I have the volume on mute, and I change to a channel, I get the no signal dialog box over top of the working video. However, if I have the sound on, there is no problem (definitely not a show stopper, just thought I'd mention it).

Thirdly, right clicking the GB icon in the tray and choosing EPG update does not bring up a box that shows the progress of the EPG update, nor does it seem to do anything. It did work in the config.exe app, however, and my fourth problem:

When I updated the EPG through the config.exe app, then saved the settings (hit ok, then ok again for the main config window), It lost all of my config settings! All my mapped directories, all my playback settings, everything except, and thank GOD, my Capture sources! Not sure why this happened. I'll post my logs for you.

All in all a good realease though! Thanks for all your hard work sub!

Just to add to my previous post, I'm getting the 'signal not found error' with volume on sometimes. Not sure why.

As well, I don't seem to have control over anything but the volume once it starts playing a tv show. It sometimes responds (up to almost a minute later), but if I hit power twice on my remote it does kill the app so I can restart it. But it definitely isn't responding to the remote during playback (things like stop, for example).

Hi,

Just FYI- I am getting the "no signal" msg over the top of live TV: this is both on my upgraded GBPVR inst and a fresh version on my laptop.

This new version is "nearly there" for me now. I'm using GBPVR with winXP and a 6200 AGP on my main media PC- if I use EVR, my hibernation etc works perfectly Big Grin. However, I have the aspect ratio problems- some channels are in widescreen (but OK)- others are really squashed in! Changing the decoder does change things, but none of mine (Cyberlink, Purevideo) solve it. There is a setting in Pure to do with aspect ratios, but I haven't had a chance to play yet.

I am back on FSE at the mo- although it is better than it was before, I am still getting a black screen (with mouse pointer) on resume from hibernate.

I'm so very close to getting everything behaving! Once there is a solution for the EVR aspect ration, I'll be there!

Daniel

PS...thanks for the hard work!!

An update - I get the 'no signal' every time I watch tv now, unfortunately. As well, there are jitters in the video (but not as bad as before, I can still watch tv). I'm certain it's the codec I'm using (ATI), but I can't get my Elecard working as I mentioned before, and it seemed to work the best.

If it doesnt show up in the list, then the name cant be quite right in config.xml. I dont personally have any Elecard decoders, but if you can tell me the exact name of the decoder, I'll add it to the master list.

How long is it taking live tv to start on you machine? If it takes too long (like struggling to find directshow decoders etc), then this can cause it to popup the 'no signal' message. You could try increasing the value in the <NoSignalPopupDelay> setting in config.xml.

The black screen on resume from hibernate is the only problem I have with 1.0.16. I was waiting to see if the new .5 release fixed this - so I assume from your post that it didn't? I don't want to use EVR as I believe hardware acceleration can only be used in Vista...

Reproduce this problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Here you are Sub.

Just so you know:
I flushed the logs
Opened PVR2
Went to a BBC1, got the signal msg
Went back to BBC1 without the msg
Hibernated from the system menu
Woke up to black screen
Accidently hibernated again (maybe the system page was there but invisible to me lol)
Woke up to a blank screen
Ctrl alt del + terminiated PVR2

Hope this is OK- first time I have posted logs!

Try adding the following line to your config.xml, then try again

<FSERestartImmediately>true</FSERestartImmediately>

Thanks...that was quick. Can this just go anywhere in the config xml?
