In addition to using GBPVR at home, apretty boring setup, I was given a touch sensitive LCD display from a information kiosk and wondered what to do with it.

After a bit of measuring I discovered it fit really nice in here

Now since this is in my camper van
[Image: wide_shot.JPG]

I had to find something to run it, to keep the power down and run the whole thing off a battery I went for a mini-itx mother board installed with a pvr 150

continued

OK it's not as tidy as it might be, I also fitted a remote power switch ...

Using illuminated push buttons reset doubles as an HDD LED and the power switch is the power LED, the rocker at the bottom controls power to the screen and a few other odds and ends like

A 12 volt FTA sat box.

Finally since it is in a van when parked I just close the door and it all hides quite nicely
[Image: closed.JPG]

For software I run windows XP hacked to hide all the startup screens and boot directly into GBPVR, I use the old interface since the mini-itx can only handle overlay (plus PVRX2 wont play with the touch screen very well) and the remote sensor is attached to the side of the screen.

I suppose it's a sort of mobile home theater pc

So have I installed GBPVR in the strangest place? or do you know differently.

(sorry had to post over two messages because of the number of pics)

That is nothing short of ingenious. Big Grin Very good idea implemented very nicely. Inspiring indeed. Gotta get me a camper now... Big Grin

Are you able to use the touch screen for controlling GBPVR, or are you dependent on the remote (I'm specifically thinking on getting out of menus)?

They are stuck to the cabinet that hides the setup (sorry - couldn't resist Rolleyes ). Actually - they show just fine with me. Inline photos of the setup.

The pics may be a little slow, there coming over my adsl line

the touchscreen works for most things except scrolling Sad

I don't really use it for recording, i have a machine at home for that but I do copy files to it (gbpvr and downloaded divx etc) and use it to watch them.

You could put a wireless card in the camper, with a range extender antennae, and then sync to your home server!

Yeah, only GB's client mode doesn't "like" this sometimes-on-sometimes-off connections. It's more tailored to stable LAN connections.

I have a wireless card but I just use it to move files into the 'movies' directory I have on the camper. works OK for divx etc but large files go out on a USB hard driveSmile Not in any of the pics but I also have a USB DVD drive hidden in one of the cupboards so I can use that too.
