Hi there,

I have a MVP and i have installed the GBPVR on a windows vista computer. The computer (server) is pretty good, when i check the system there is no much load on the machine.

The problem is:

I start the MVP and after few seconds it slows down terribly, at point that a click on the remote may take 1 minute to reflect on the MVP.

Does anyone know what i can do to address this problem?

Many thanks,

Wagner

Are you using a wired or wireless connection?

If you leave it a few minutes, does it speed up?

i am using wired, it hangs for a very long time and then some movement happens on the screen, but not much.

The MVP pretty much freezes forever.

firewall is switched off and i have tried almost everything and no result.

I'm not really sure. I'm guessing something network related is causing your problems, but hard to guess what exactly.

Have you tried the MVPMC dongle? It's brilliant, and if nothing else can narrow down the diagnostics to either dongle related or not...

Anyway - it's easy to test. Download, put it into the dongle directory, powercycle your MVP and enter the "Emulation" menu that appears after boot.

The problem might simply be that you are trying to run the supplied dongle on Vista which won't work. Here is the survival guide item on this.

Edit: Like nia suggested!

Smile Yes the problem was the dongle. all working in perfect order now. This is way better than the Hauppauge software.

Thank you all.
