I'm sure this has been asked before, I did some searching but couldn't find anything.

Has a recorded program information editing feature ever been considered? I have accumulated a large library over the past couple years on my 500GB drive and have several that either didn't come with a decent description or due to a bug/error showed up as "manual recording" or a completely incorrect title/description.

For my PVR setup, editing within GBPVR itself wouldn't be real handy, but editing within EWA would be extremely helpful.

So, I guess is this feature request feasible? - has it been discussed before?

I can't help you directly with EWA, but Moviewizard (see plugins) can operate on all your files and d/l TV Shows and Movie Data. It doesn't however go into the EPG or EWA databases.

All we'd need is for some way for GBPVR or EWA to suck that into the database :-) I'm not sure if this can be doen from Moviewiz, it sems to have a seperate database, but at least the INFO is there ... Perhaps we can ask Javawiz/EWA/Sub to get their heads together on this one?

Thanks for the tip - moviewiz is pretty cool, it will be very cool as he gets some of the "ToDo's" done - but right now, with just the single tier menu structure I have to wade through a mountain of recordings if I want to get to the ones at the bottom of the list.

Still would be very nice to be able to edit the existing stuff - doesn't seem like it would be a big deal to implement from a programming standpoint, but I haven't looked at the source or plug in structure to see how the data is accessed (I'm assuming direct database queries aren't used?).

The key to functionality with EWA is that it utilizes the GBPVR API that is provided rather than being a completely separate application. This allows EWA to stay up to date easily with the ever changing GBPVR.

There are very minimal direct calls from EWA into the GBPVR databases.....all the recording, details and maintenance that occurs in EWA go directly through existing GBPVR API calls using all the GBPVR classes and objects.

Every once and a while there are requests for functionality that are entirely independent of the API. Some have been added while other have not. T all depends on how outside of the API the request goes.

Editing the description for programmes would require direct read and write into the GBPVR database.......although I know it can be done I don't think I will be working on that anytime soon.

I am currently consumed with creating a new CSS based interface for EWA which has been taking up all of my time the past 4 or 5 months.

I am also in the process or commenting out the Reminder code that EWA had been using since this functionality has been depreciated (for now) within GBPVR and is no longer available. It is things like this that show why it is important not to extend too far past the native API because when there are changes in GBPVR then EWA needs to have work done to it to align to the changes. Fortunatly most of the code can be converted over to support the request for auto-record based off of saved searches so it was not a complete waste of coding time and effort.

I figured it was such an issue or it would already be built in to EWA Smile
