I have been modifying the MovieWiz skin to go with my Blue-Retro_SHV skin.

I have basically got it finished but have run into trouble with the details (I think from memory you call them movie info) displays, with my larger font sizes they are all out of line & look rather bad.

I noticed if I select blue skin all the headings etc line up perfectly but if I select community3 they have started to go out of line & with my skin they are WAY out of line.

JavaWiz is there any chance you will have a look at this in the future? I don't know if there is any easy answer as it doesn't appear to be skinable from what I can see?

Unfortunately it looks bad enough that I'm reluctant to include it in a release of my skin to the public.

Is your skin part of the Community3 skin set?

If I can get what your most current version is, I can take a look and see what's going on and maybe help you out.

No it's a stand alone high visibility skin, quite a few users seem to be using it for their skin.

The most current version is on the wiki but doesn't include the MovieWiz skin I will attach that now for you to look at.

Got it. Ok, my machine is doing several recordings tonight, so I won't get to look at this until tomorrow.

Ok, I see your problem. You need to specify a fixed font for the Movie Info field, you can try Courier New or Lucida Console. With these fonts, each character take up the same pixel width, so it is easy to line up text strings.

Code:
<TextStyle name="MovieInfoText"   color="LightGray" typeFace="[B]Courier New[/B]" size="14" style="[B]bold[/B]"/>
This can be done both in skin.xml and in the MovieInfoPopup.xml.

Thanks for that, I would never have though to use a fixed font.

When I first started looking at enlarging the Movie Info field font I just upped the font size of Courier New but it was very hard to look at on a small tv over the MVP but Lucida Console regular looks acceptable over the mvp Smile

Depends on the skin you are using as to which directory to look in. For the Blue skin, you would look under skin2/Blue/MovieWiz.

skin.xml - main screen
MovieInfoPopup.xml - the information screen
MoviePosterPopup.xml - the 'zoom' thumbnail screen

Many of the font sizes and styles will be found in the <TextStyles> section of the skin xml files.
