For those of you using the EWA from outside your house, what precautions do you take? Do you use anything aside from AV software? Is there anything that can be done to reduce the potential for someone accessing your machine via the open ports since you are basically opening a hole in your firewall?

Also does port 7648 need to be open to allow streaming or just 7647?

psycik said in this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ssh&page=2 that he'd put together a little tutorial on how to do ssh tunneling to the EWA. Either he didn't, or he removed it from the thread... in either way, maybe you can poke him and ask him for some help. ssh tunneling would be as secure as you'd get it without paying up a lot of money Wink
