I´m struggling and need some help!

I had my GBPVR computer set up and working fine in the UK, but now I´ve moved to Spain and need to change things.

I need to connect a Sky (UK) Digibox to the computer, as it´s the only way I can receive English TV here. In another thread, Sub told me that my current TV card´s S-Video & Composite inputs (a Compro T200) won´t work with GBPVR.

So I need to dip into the coffers again and get another card. Which one would be best, bearing in mind I only need to connect a STB to it and not tune in to TV broadcasts over here?

I´ve also found out that both the STB´s I have don´t output S-Video via the scart lead so will I have to connect via a composite input?

And lastly, how do I connect the sound output from the STB to the PC? I´ve just tried connecting the audio outputs from the STB to the line-in on my soundcard, and I get sound. However, I always get sound via the computer even when I´m doing nothing else unless I switch the STB off. Am I doing it wrong again?

This is pretty straightforward:

Get a analog hardware encoder card. The most common/compatible is the Hauppauge PVR-150 for around £50 (version depending if/which remote you need, cheaper MCE version is fine). I think each version also has the IRBlaster included (to change channels) but you might want to check.

Connect to the Sky box SCART via a SCART to 2xphono cable (e.g. MAPLIN http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?Modu...&doy=26m11). You won't need to connect to your soundcard.

You would get a better picture via S-video (less colour bleed) but you would really then need one of the Sky boxes with s-video out (SKY+ or some Grundig/Sony digiboxes). You can get s-video from a RGB SCART but you then need an adapter box to convert at around £40+.
