To be honest probably not.
I do hope to add support for an HD extender in the medium term future (6 - 9 months), but it is unlikely to be that hardware.

This is the second post on the same thread so I thought I'd add some comments. I do consider this a target machine for mvpmc and I will push SageTV for the GPL portion of the the Linux code to me made public, but I don't expect that "Narflex" will flex too much. I have asked on several information for the STV protocol to compliment emulation mode and other work I was doing on the mvp, without any success, as is their right, (although there is mvpmc code in their dongle but I digress).
My preference for mvpmc is to continue to work with Syabas, they continue to provide positive comments on allowing user apps on their NMT and even opened a forum for this purpose. It wouldn't hurt if GBPVR users asked for this feature only the MythTV users seem interested, even though I've posted the links a few times. In all likelihood based on media formats, I think the STX HD100 will have the same Sigma Design processor that the Syabas NMT devices use, so the multimedia capacities will be similar. I expect these units to be cheaper too since you don't have to buy a Sage client license. From the sound of things sub is further along in planning for an extender than we are on the mvpmc project so I think these continue to be interesting times. Martin

I dont even have a specific device in mind. ![]() I would probably buy and investigate the NMT, but they dont seem to be readily available. I'd be more than happy to help you with mvpmc on this device, and extend GB-PVR to take advantage of its extra capabilities, or if that idea doesnt fly then I could write my own client. (I can be quite productive when I feel like it ![]() (the timeframe I mentioned is around when we'll get HD here)

In several ways the Popcornhour is a better target anyway, but I was hoping to offer a few options. Martin

Just stirring the pot a little.....
This device is linux..... (Maybe it's a little overkill) http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/drives/8af5/?cpg=64H

The neoros device only supports video up to 720 x 480 from what I have read in the past. What is needed is a similar device but with a better video output.
Server: Windows 10 - ASrock N3150DC -ITX Fanless Celeron
Clients: Shield TV with X-newa on Kodi, Asus chromebox - openelec - X-newa on Kodi

When the Neuros device first came out I ignored it because it didn't do mpeg-2. Now it is completely obsolete.

As another update, I'm checking with my reliable source ( "SHS" ) on this, since the manual clearly states that it does use a linux kernel, busybox etc just like the mvp so some source code should be made available.

Found another device, I did not read too much about it. But it states that it can play streams off other computers (aswell as off the internal drive). It is running some form of Linux inside (ucLinux it says).
http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/drives/8e50/ Perhaps an alternative? |
