I appear to be missing some step, but am not sure what it is.
The .mpg recordings were back to back on the same channel and tuner.
Nothing happened.

First of all, I should remind you that I have lost the code for this program, and so I can't look 'under the hood' and see what's happening.

And next, if I remember correctly, ZRename doesn't work with dvr-ms files. But then I can't remember if it would or not...

Around Scotland, Postman Pat, Primary History Saxons and Vikings, Ross Kemp on Gangs are all titles that are not in the epguides.com web site... Currently only shows that are there will have a rename passed.

If I remember correctly, if ZRename doesn't find an appropriate file name, it would simply close, and not try renaming the file. Does this happen? Are there corruptions? Does the file leave your Recordings list?

ZRename was originally designed for getting episode numbers and airdates for North American shows, like Simpsons, and Stargate. Most American PrimeTime. It is user maintained, so I guess if someone created a page for 'Ross Kemp on Gangs' then ZRename would work...

-Oz- and I are currently working on a project that will among other things, perform the same ZRename look up, but use other online database sources too.

The recordings are fine. No corruption. They are the same as before... i.e. no extra parts of the subsequent recording were added.

Did I put ZRename in the title? If so that was my fault. This was the output from ZBackToBack.

I change the titles of threads to reflect the software that I thought the question was about. Goes to show you it's been a while for ZBack2Back too... Big Grin

K, well, ZBack2Back will not work with dvr-ms files for sure...

If working well, ZBack2Back should detect if there's a preceding or following recording and then chop the first few minutes of the shows...

Do you have it work any other time? Or is it all the time.

Unfortunately ZBack2Back is another piece of software that I have lost the source for.

I like the idea a lot, but I was always unhappy with the mechansim that I chose for cutting and joining.

I wrote it, because I felt the need and thought others would too. So I don't doubt that I will be revisiting this. As with ZProcess, sometimes and second time through makes for a better program...

Well this happens sometimes to me and the idea behind this program is excellent.
It is a pity that you lost your source code. Are you saying that the rewritten ZProcess will include this functionality aswell? As I think it is needed if Sub will not provide it by default.

This is the first time I have tried out this utility, so it has never worked before. I understand that dvr.ms files do not work, but that does not matter too much, since I have two tuners for my DVB-T programs. Any other tips to get it working?

I meant that ZProcess was ultimately improved by be rewriting it...

I'm not sure anymore what to suggest. I haven't used the software since I had my second tuner. And there wasn't enough interest in it, so that it stayed fresh in my mind.

I will be revisiting it though, because it doesn't seem there is anything out there that tries to do what ZBack2Back does...

But if you have two tuners, you might want to look into getting GB-PVR to alternate tuners. Although that may not suit you.

I preferred to have two back to back shows on the same tuner, and planned to use ZBack2Back, just so I always had the second tuner available for live TV or a third show...

I'm sorry that I may be able to help you for a while

How are you calling it? & what is in your batch file? I seem to remember when I set it up I had to muck around with my postprocessing.bat to get it to work as the examples on the wiki didn't work for me, but when I got that sorted out ZB2B did it's thing fine. I can give you an example of my batch file if you want to try that?
