My old avermedia card died about a yr ago and I am considering a new perchase , I miss being able to time-shift my favorite shows.

I am looking at the hvr-1600 card. I have extended basic cable from my local Suddenlink distributor, my question is this: when the digital conversion takes place in '09, will this card work? I can't afford to buy a card for analog now and a new one for digital later. Suggestions please.
