Using laptop as clinet

I now have a acer laptop and want to access gbpvr using the on my home network. Kinda like meadia MVP how is the setup go.Please use step by step instrucitions. Thanks in advance.

2.6GHz P4, Seagate 80,WD 160 HDDs,Radeon 9250 pci, 46 in. Samsung HDTV XP Home SP2

Thanks for the post I found some but the one that you suggested will work
far better for me to my hook on phonics needs. Dial-up
