When I bring up the settings window for the audio decoder using the config app, I get a rectangular window that is too small for the options. There is no scrollbar, so I cannot reach some of the options. I use the MPA Audio Decoder.

I have attached a screenshot.

PS: I think the same thing is happening for the MPV Video Decoder settings, where the last? sentence is displayed only half.

I suspect its a bug in the MPA decoder since all the other audio decoder settings I view give different size window. In this case it looks like it isnt giving itself a big enough window.

I just tell directshow to display that decoders settings. I dont tell how big to make the window - that is up to the decoder.

Ok, thanks for looking into it.

Does anyone have a version of MPA/MPV that does not have this problem?

Have you tried to re-size the windows by dragging in corner? On the edge between back ground and MPA decoder you will see that cursor change.

It could also be that you have set a font size for windows that isn't working that great with some application. You can bring up font by right clicking on desktop. That will bring up "properties". From there you will be able to see "dispay properties" and one is "appearance" which control different setting for objects in windows through pull down menu. There is one control for "font size", beside font size you have "advanced" which lead you to Item message box in pull down menu. Here you will also see a picture of a message box with some text inside that will change after you have made your choices.

There is nothing to try as the window seems to be fixed size, just like the config window itself. The cursor therefore does not change its appearance when on the border. It does for other applications (e.g. explorer).

I have all my settings set to default; I've got experience with Windows to have learned not to mess too much with the settings Big Grin

Is there a special reason to use MPA or could you guys use FFDSHOW instead? It has the ability to decode everything you want (or let pass through S/PDIF of AC3 and DTS).

FFDSHOW tryout project on Doom9 - forum with more info and link to download.

ffdshow doesn't show up in my list of choices..

add "ffdshow Audio Decoder" in supported audio decoders section of config.xml..

No special reason, except maybe laziness. I downloaded it together with the MPV decoder, which gives me the best video results. In the past I was using AC3Filter which was also ok. In my case it doesn't matter much, since everything is set to S/PDIF pass through.
