So, I can't get my aspect ratio to work in EVR. I have a custom setting in my config.xml with -.20,0,1.20,1. It works fine with VMR and Overlay, but when I flip through the aspect ratios in EVR my custom setting doesn't show up. Any ideas?

btw, I LOVE the new EVR. It fixed my stutter problem. Thanks!!!

Like the old Overlay renderer, you cant use values outside of the range 0,0,1,1. In this case both -0.20 and 1.20 are invalid so this aspect ratio mode is skipped.

p.s. HDTV looks great. The widescreen mode fills the screen and the fill mode zooms in fine. But, when it is non-HDTV, there is a 3 inch black space on all sides.

attached is what it looks like. How can I zoom in without using values outside the range?

I assume this the situation where you have your tv shape set to 4:3, but the user is broadcasting 4:3 video pillarboxed as 16:9. ie broadcaster adds black bars left/right before broadcasting, and GB-PVR adds black bars top/bottom to display the 16:9 video received on your 4:3 TV.

Sorry there is nothing you can do about this with EVR. If you had a 16:9 TV, then you wouldnt have this problem.

good idea..Smile you could zoom whole screen, then adjust custom ratios appropriately..Big Grin [since you can shrink only, zoom entire screen and shrink with aspects to compensate]
would require a bit of trial and error but should be able to get it right..

this will reduce *slightly* the overall resolution by a few pixels but shouldn't be noticeable.. i used to do something like this with overlay..

Is zoom in the config.xml? The only problem I see with that is that right now the HDTV signals come in perfect, so wouldn't that mess it up?

p.s. thanks for your guys' help!

Yeah, that're talking about a permanent "fix" in config.xml rather than being able press F7 to toggle between good/bad channels.

It doesn't appear to me that when using the evr renderer that the HorizontalZoom and VerticalZoom settings in the config.xml are used.
