I have 3 tuners set up in Config:
PVR 150
HVR1600 Analog
HVR1600 Digital

Doing the scan on the digital channels I get only my local CBS and ABC affiliates in QAM clear. The quality of the signals varies so that sometimes the digital signal is better and sometimes the analog.

My question is, how can I differentiate between the digital and analog versions of the same channel? If I have, for example, channel 12 disabled on both analog tuners and enabled on the digital tuner, with channel 12 mapped to 12.1, then I will always get the digital version of that channel. If I enable all 3 tuners for channel 12, it seems to always give me the analog version. (In Config the digital tuner is third in the list.)

I guess what I would like to see is to have both channel 12 and 12.1 appear in the sequence of channels on Live TV and on EPG, but I can't figure how to do this.

Maybe the problem would be moot it I could get decent QAM rendering. Most of the time it shows up kind of like a very fast slide show - the picture seems to skip a frame or two every now and then.

Thanks,
Walt

Walt,

I have 4 tuners.

HVR-1600 analog (S-video with STB (HDTV and standard def)
HVR-1600 QAM
ATI HDTV Wonder OTA
ATI HDTV Wonder Analog

My cards are set up in that order.

I have 3 separate lineups in Schedule Direct. I have one for the STB digital channels (HVR-1600 analog), one for the HDTV OTA (HDTV Wonder OTA), and one for the non-digital standard definition channels (HDTV Wonder analog). For the QAM, I use the same digital channel lineup which includes the HD Channels (I just map QAM (HVR-1600 QAM) channels to their digital cable numbers and deselect these channels on the STB lineup for the HVR-1600 analog).

The channels show up in sections in my epg as analog first, digital channels next and then the OTA channels show up last (which loops to the beginning of the analog channels so they are easy to get to). The local SD channels are the same as their OTA counterparts which are the same as the HDTV cable channels so all can be used.

Hope this helps.

Bigbus

This has worked great for me.

Thanks! I'll give that a try. It never occurred to me to have different EPG for different tuners!
