Here's a bug I've been having with 1.1.5.. and I was hoping the bugfix sub posted yesterday for the live guide would fix this, but it didn't..

Sometimes when you change channels from the LiveGuide (either by hitting 'play' or by clicking on a program and choosing 'Watch'), live TV abruptly quits and your'e stuck at the menu and live TV stops working. The recording service is stuck on the previous channel and it has to be restarted to make things work again.

The logs are huge... about 1.3mb.. and includes pages and pages of consecutive lines that look like:
Quote:2007-12-16 06:45:46.401 VERBOSE [1] TVGuide.GetRenderList() complete
2007-12-16 06:45:46.424 VERBOSE [1] TVGuide.GetRenderList()

2007-12-16 06:45:46.427 VERBOSE [1] tv guide render took@row: 0.0078125

seems like something very fishy is going on, can you please take a look sub?

also sub, pressing Home to get the video inset at the menu doesn't work anymore after that patch. I know that is unsupported for EVR anyway, but I'm using VMR9 Custom and use that feature quite a bit Sad Can we keep it an option as long as VMR9 is used as the renderer?

Can you post the recording service logs so I can take a look?

Is there any error logged in the Windows Event Viewer?

I suspect if you'd visited any the screens that can show the inset (for example, Music Library) then returned to the main menu, then later viewed live tv, then tried to switch to inset mode it would have worked correctly.

Anyway, the attached patch that should correct this.

There no sign of any errors in there. Everything looks ok.

Yeah, it seemed fine to me as well.. but sure enough, Live TV doesn't start after that and the GBPVRTray icon stays green and is stuck recording the older program that was playing before I tried changing channels.

I guess I'll just use vnc to connect to the pc and restart the recording service when it happens.

*bump*

sub, I think I've figured this out. The error occurs when you are in the Live Guide, and you choose to watch a channel from a different capture source than the one you are at now. If I hit Play (Ctrl+P), or click on the show and choose Watch, I get kicked back to the main menu and the Recording Service gets stuck and I have to restart it to watch Live TV again.

can you please look into this?
