I have two streaming client machines: A Dell D620 with XP and an HP NC8000 with Vista.
Live TV works fine on the Dell but on the Vista machine, the video works fine for only 5 seconds and then starts to look like a slideshow. The audio is also behind on the video.

I have been looking for a solution for a few days but could not solve it.

Out of options, I have now erased the NC8000 and done a default install of XP on it.
Problem gone ! It even runs smoothly over wireless G now.
(The problem occurred on both wireless and wired ethernet on Vista).

Any ideas ? I have to move back to Vista because my Trust RC-2400 remote is not supported on XP.

Vista install was a default install as well without antivirus.
While looking for a solution I also applied all available Vista patches to no avail.

The server (XP) and client are 1.1.5 and the server has a PVR250 card.
All settings are default.

I now have two ghost images for the NC8000. One with Vista and one with XP so I can switch between OSes in a few minutes.
The Vista problem remains. I have tried to update the display drivers with the latest ATI drivers but no help.
I have been doing network tests with ping -l 50000 -t serverip and the performance is the same on XP as on Vista.
I have checked the Vista power saving settings and everything is on full power now.
There is no firewall, no antivirus and I have used TweakUAC to turn al the fancy security settings off.

Here are the logs but I went through them and I can't find anything wrong. Anyone with a better trained eye ?

Nothing stands out in the logs.

You could try using file mode instead of stream mode to see if it behaves any better.

Thanks, Sub.
File mode gives similar (if not identical) results.
I get about one frame every 5 seconds.
