Hi, I have a Medion MD8383XL and live in the Crystal Palace Transmitter's area in the uk.
I had an old version of GBPVR running on my PC ok until my hard drive was reformat and the os re-installed. Now when I try to scan for channels with vs 1.1.5 I get no channels found. I've tried un-installing and re-installing several times. Sometimes it finds multiples of unknown channels?
Powercinema, media portal and Showshifter all can find the channels no problems. Needless to say I really miss GBPVR and would love to have it back.
This is getting really frustrating and I would appreciate some help.
Many Thanks, Ravi

You could try going in to your capture source settings, into the recording source settings (where you select the device type), then click the BDA Advanced Settings, then tick the 'ignore CRC errors during scan' checkbox to see if it helps.

Thanks so much for the response, I did try your suggestion but to no avail. I recall that with the previous version I had to set <BDAUsePsiParser>false</BDAUsePsiParser>
But if I do this now it straight away tells me it won't find any channels when scanning. I've tried several different versions and they all have the same problem. Is there a way of setting the channels manually for the Crystal Palace transmitter? Many Thanks, Ravi

You absolutely have to have <BDAUsePsiParser>true</BDAUsePsiParser> if you want to scan for channels.

I'm trying an earlier version, 9813, now when scanning for channels gbpvr finds a number of channels and names them unknown and then a number. There are several duplicates. When clicking on one of the channels I can get a picture but then I am unable to get a picture when clicking on a different channel in those found. I guess this is progress.

I get unknown channels when trying a satellite card. My Nova-T cards both work fine but the satellite gives unknown channels. (unknown1 , then 2, 3 some with Audio #2)

Try creating a c:\temp directory, then adding the following registry setting:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Devnz\LogPSIProcessing=2 (DWORD)

Then do a scan, and zip and attach the c:\psi.log file that gets generated. Then delete that registry setting.

Sub - the file is 166MB (14MB zipped) - it's to big for the forum which has a file limit just under 1MB.

Do you want a section of it or something in there to search for?

You might be best to try temporarily cutting down the satelitte .ini file you're using so that it only includes one example frequency that leads to these 'unknown' channels, then do the scan again. It should result in a much smaller psi.log.
