Hi

I have only been searching with the default settings so far. But I now decided to try a more complex search so I clicked Edit Filter and the filter box poped up and then searchWiz immediately exited to the main menu.

any ideas?

It happens on both my server and client - at least it's consistent!

cheers

Keith

Create the error and post your pvrx2.exe.log and I'll take a look.

I had a quick look at the log and this is the relevent bit I think - If you want all the log I will post in but this is the section between filter popup and return to main menu.
Lots of errors!

Somehow it looks like the skins and the plugin don't match. Can you try re-installing with the most current version on the Wiki and see if the problem persists.

I downloaded again and re-installed but it is exactly the same.

I only have the standard install - SearchWizX2 is the only plugin - although I added the common utils

Hmm..

Let's try this:
  • Manually delete plugins/common
  • Manually delete plugins/SearchWizX2
  • Manually delete skin2/Blue/SearchWizX2
  • Download lastest version from Wiki
  • Install
If it still fails:
  • zip up the pvrx2.exe.log and the skin2/SearchWizX2 directory
  • Post zipped file to this thread.

ah - that worked - I can't see any difference in the files between what was there and now but it obviously made a different.

It also looks different! The menu items are different. I guess it is possible in changing versions and adding patches I mixed up the files.

Thanks for sorting me out again.

Hi again!!

I have another thread on filtering out duplicate recordings - can searchWiz filters do taht.

For example I wanted to record "Walking with dinosaus" each episode has a different sub title and when search I got 26 episodes, 5 unique episodes repeated over the day. Can I filter to get just 5 rather than the 26?

Also what does the circle mean in the search results on the right hand list, sometimes it has s in and sometimes a number?

cheers

That may be a little difficult. SearchWiz simply reflects what is found in the EPG, and filters based on program attributes (ie genre, channel, time,...)

In order to provide a feature like this, which episodes should SearchWiz show? The first time it plays, the last time; what if the episode that was selected has a conflict with another program scheduled for recording, it would appear that you couldn't record both, but in fact that episode may not have a conflict at a different time.
Quote:Also what does the circle mean in the search results on the right hand list, sometimes it has s in and sometimes a number?
The Selected Show Indicator reflects the following:
  • Already recorded - Green Bullet with a R
  • Recording scheduled - Blue Bullet with a S
  • Recording conflict - Red Bullet with a X
  • Reminder Scheduled - Blue Bullet with a R
  • Potential conflict - Green Bullet with a numeric indicating number of conflicts
  • Recording in progress - Yellow Bullet with a R
  • Showing now (LiveTV) - Yellow Bullet with a L
