Hi

I've just ordered a Hauppauge PVR150 but I'm still wondering how to contol my digibox (Panasonic). I've had several suggestions as Red-Eye or UIRT IR Blaster. Red-Eye is easly available and resonably cheap but I've don't know how good it is? IR Blaster is well recommended but is difficult to get (I'm in Sweden) and expensive, especially as the shops that ship it from the USA want around $50 in shipping costs which is more than the cost of the IR Blaster itself?
Has anyody got any other good suggestions for control that works well with gbpvr or even know of a cheaper supplier for IR Blaster in Europe?

Thanks in advance

I was looking at getting the non MCE PVR-150 (retail). It says it comes with an IR Receiver and Transmitter. Does GB-PVR support the IR Transmitter of the PVR-150 for the Channel Changer?

I only got my PVR150 a few days ago, so the current public version of GB-PVR doesn't yet support the IR Blaster, but I hope to add support in the next release.

what is the ir transmitter of the pvr150 like? im thinking of getting one, and i cant find any pictures of them anywhere. are the basically just like the alternative IR blasters support (theres two i cant remeber what they are called). like do they just plugin into the card or usb, and you put it face an external source like a sky box. or is the transmitter part of the reciever? (ive only seen it called "transmitter and reciever&quotWink

Yes, I have my PVR150. The combined IR Receiver/Blaster on it is just like a grey equivalent of the IR receiver that comes with the PVR250/350, but with an extra (single long) wire that hangs off it, with an LED on the end. Its not a separate IR blaster. I've not played with it yet, so dont know if its as flexible as the USB-UIRT/RedRat2/Actisys IR200L

Hi all

The Blaster that comes with the 150 (or any other Blaster?), how long can the wire be?

I plan to have about 15m between Cable Box and PC, and have a spare CAT5 cable between the two. Could I get a red eye serial and would it work over a 15m length, over the CAT5 cable?

The blaster is on the end of a wird about 6 foot long. I cant answer your question about how long you could modify it to before it stops working.
