Please can someone summarise the proper method and location for deploying the theme files using that tool with two directory path inserts. I'm a bit confused whether to still install the file called community.exe also as I only use pvrx2. I got the latest SkinPlugin 3.1.1
I also have the themes changer installed and accidentally got them to work. Some backgrounds don't set set themselves into place. Shall I unpack the themes inside community 3 in skins2 folder although there seems to be lot of stuff there already?

What do you mean by "unpack the themes"? The SkinPlugin is for use with the Community Skin 3. The Themes Manager is an old (and unsupported) plugin for use with Mixman's BasicSkin system.

See the links below for info on the Community Skin and the SkinPlugin:

Sorry, my poor use of terminology. I meant the same thing the skin plugin which allows switching between themes and mixing buttons and panels. I was under the impression that plugin comes from themes manager. I got another program SKINROOT.EXE which I think came down with a bunch of skins I downloaded. It dumped skins into their respective folders depending on the directory path I put in. Trouble is I don't know what was the right path to chose.

There unfortunately aren't that many themes that look good under PVRX2. The old ContourHC and Avance screens really look different (due to a lack of skinning flexibility right now under PVRX2). At any rate, If you have the SkinPlugin installed (follow McBainUK's links), you run that within PVRX2 by selecting it from the main menu.
