Evening/morning all!

I have searched through the forums but i couldnt seem to find a definative answer, but how can i convert my GB-PVR recordings too another format such as divx or xvid?

I have looked everywhere but either im being an idiot or this functionality isnt there!

Sorry if this is a dum question!

Thanks, Rob

You can use the 'transcode' function in the Video Library to conver a file xvid/divx, or the PostProcessing tab in the config app to convert all future recordings.

Oh i wasnt sure about the postprocessing tab as it said 'experimental'! Ok so using that tab are the converted files left in the same folder?

I put the recording directory as a Video file source but i cant transcode any files in there, it will transcode any other file formats such as xvid but recordings wont?

Have i broken something or am i just getting the wrong end of the stick?

What type of recording do you have? If you have .dvr-ms files, then you need to have the Cyberlink mxu installed on your machine to transcode it to something else.

When does it scan the video library to find files too convert?

I have some dvr-ms files in the video library and set the convert to mpg2 and set the do conversions asap. Nothing has appeared!!

I have a cyberlink MUX installed and using.

Alternatively is there another tool to convert a batch of dvr-ms to mpeg for free.

EDIT Just re-found dvrmstompg toolkit so will try that!!

cheers

take a look at this bat file that can convert all the recordings in specific folders as well as individual files.

It never scans the video library. If you set it to convert recordings to X (on the processing tab of the config app), then each new recording that happens after that setting being enabled will be auto scheduled for conversion. All the existing files on you disk will be left untouched, including those in your video library.

You can highlight a video file in the video library then click 'transcode' button to start a transcode for that individual file. It'll popup a window asking you what type of file you want to convert it to.

Thanks for all the help! Now i have to set the the conversion process to happen at at any time of the day, ive just finished a recording, when will it be transcoded?

Edit: posted far too soon! good work the task manager graphs just went abit mental when i am doing nothing so im guessing its converting!

Will there ever be the option to convert a dvr-ms file when selected like can be done with other videos in the video library?
