Hi,

I am going around in circles and nothing works!

How can I get my iMON VFD with IR to work with GB-PVR. The PVRX2 interface.

I have 2 iMON VFD's.

1) Supports only iMON PAD
2) Supports iMON PAD and MCE Remote

Tried everything!

No more ideas... Help needed!

Cheers

Hi,

Its the iMON VFD 2 x 16 Character supplied by Origenae when buying a X10 Case. They supplied a irTrans and a iMON VFD.

I can't get eithe one to work with GB-PVR/PVRX2.

Only up, down, left, right and enter work on both VFD. Same results.

I am running Vista x32 Home Premium but don;t have the MediaCentre part of Vista inbuilt in my version. Do you think this has any impact?

Hoping someone can help!
Tried HIP as well... No difference.

Ideas??? Whats setup incorrectly?

Cheers

I have 2 iMON VFD's. Both have the same issue. 1 supports iMON PAD remote only and the other supports iMON PAD and MCE remote.

with hip you need to load it then learn the codes from the button of the remote and map them to key presses to get it to run gbpvr

personally i only use mce remotes they are the best for pvr stuff easy to use
imon remote is in a box somewhere

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do. Are you trying to get the remote (IR) working or the display (VFD)? I know they are the same device, but it does matter what you're trying to achieve.

I'm also using the iMON IR/VFD device that came with my Silverstone case. I have installed the SoundGraph iMON drivers and at least the IR works for me. After installing you must open the iMON Manager and configure program commands for GBPVR.exe and/or PVRX2.exe (whichever you want to use). In the configuration you can map each remote button to a key and give it a name as well. I have programmed most of the GBPVR shortcut keys to a remote button and it works flawlessly.

However, since I'm using the SoundGraph drivers, I cannot get any control over the VFD part of it as it is controlled by the same driver. Again, I've used the iMON Manager to configure it such that it always displays the current time and date, except when the PC is in standby, when it displays a static text that I have configured (something like MediaCenter standby). Additionally, I have configured it to show the name of any command it receives from the remote, to get some visual feedback for a button press.

That's about as far as you can get with the SoundGraph drivers (AFAIK). You cannot control the VFD yourself, unfortunately. SoundGraph does deliver a library for getting access to the display, but then you lose the IR functionality. I know there are some threads on this forum, on GBPVR plugins for driving the VFD only.

If anyone has a working setup with IR functionality and a GBPVR controlled VFD, I'd be very interested.

I am in the same boat I have the SilverStone version of this VFD and the remote is very useful, but it would be nice to have more functionality from the display when using PVRX2!

I use the iMON VFD/remote support of Silverstone LC10M with PVRX2.

The difference with the VFD (2x16 "iMON inside") is I don't use a plugin. Instead a combination of LCDSmartie & GBPVRCLi (part of SlimmGBPVR utulity) I can get multiple pending/in-progress recordings displayed along with all the other stuff that LCDSmartie gives. If you want what is currently playing etc. then I have used the plugin alongside. The key with all this is the plugin/GBPVRCli can output text files of the data and these can be read/parsed by LCDSmartie to display. You can even do conditional display (e.g. for showing a message only when a recording is in progress). I posted a sample of what I do in another thread earlier today. It is all pretty straightforward and very reliable. I also display a message on the VFD while the PC is in standby showing when it will wake and to record what.

For the remote I do what hzwaal does but also use an all-in-one remote (Logitech harmony) to bring everything together.

Hi,

Do I understand correctly that you are using the iMON Manager for the remote and key mappings and use LCDSmartie for controlling the VFD?
