Hi,

My Install is on Vista x32.

GB-PVR/ PVRX2 works fine... No issues at all.

I have a Itrans USB and also have a spare Imon MCE Receiver both USB.
I prefer to use my Itrans USB.

I have set the GBPVR config to MCE Remote.

Irtans state that they have full MCE support but it doesn't work.
Only the UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT and ENTER on the MCE remote work.

I have tried HIP and Ghostevent. Ghostevent doesn't support Irtans and all no plugin for GB-PVR.

I would like to use the standard driver for Irtans and work with PVRX2 interface.

Whats wrong? Ideas?

Cheers

I dont really know anything about this remote. If it sends the same codes as a regularly MCE remote, then it should work. Otherwise you'll probably have to see if you can configure the remote to send the keystrokes that GB-PVR expects.

member caseyjones has painfully sorted the codes for HIP for use with IRTRANS (USB) on a Zalman HD160 - maybe you can ask him or he can post. or her....

Hi,

I also have an iMON VFD which I installed.

I have chosen MCE Remote in GB-PVR and installed the iMON application.
Also the same problem only left, right, up, down and enter work.

Have a standard MC v2 remote.

I tried the iMONVFD Plugin and it seems great... Info works fine... NOW. NO remote function at all.

What is going on?

What have not configured? If using an iMON VFD how should I setup? If plugin used?

Cheers

I have an MCE remote that is driving through IRTrans.

Originally I tried to program IRTrans but couldn't sort how to do multikey input like ctrl-d so opted to use HIP.

Enclosed is the contents of the HIP file I created that maps nearly all keys (I couldn't get mute to work Sad) to work with PVRX2. Copy content into a .hip file and save in the HIP directory, once you have done this then start hip and load the config file (you may have to change the paths for APP1 and 2 depending where you ave everything stored.)

I have programmed Application 1 for PVRX2 and Application 2 for Media Player (I use this for non ripped CD's).

If you get double hits for up/down arrow then remove the apps.cfg file from the irtrans/remotes directory (I think this is what I did to solve the problem).

The following text should be copied to the .hip file. Have fun.

Thanks for the info - can you clarify for me a little bit as I've not used HIP.

Are you using the IR built into the HD160 box - I assume it is the same as the HD160+ which I have. Do you use the Zalman remote that came with the box, a Hauppauge remote, or an MCE type remote? Is the remote acting as an MCE or Hauppauge remote?

What happens between the signal recieved by the IR device on the box (imon hardware, right?) and PVRX2?

Sorry if that seems a basic question but it's not quite clear to me what interacts with what and through what.

{edit} I also see you are using LCD smartie - does this mean you can get rid of the imon software? How do the HIP, LCDsmartie, PVRX2 interact?

Also how are you using IRTrans?

It seems you are doing what I will want, did you consider creating your ouw thing that combined all these?

cheers

Keith

My understanding is that IRTrans deals with handling the IR signal (I'm using the Zalman remote which I think is an MCEV2, and told PVRX2 its an MCE remote), if you look in the taskbar you can see IRTrans showing the remote keys that are being pressed.
IRTrans is supposed to have programmabilty similar to HIP to generate key presses when a remote key is pressed, I never used this. But you should note that it has default programming for arrow, enter and number keys. That is why lots of people say only these keys work.

HIP has an interface to IRTrans, so IRTrans is relegated to just gathering remote button presses and passing to HIP. (Because of this the IRTrans programmed keys need to be turned off - apps.cfg, otherwise you get double key hits where IRTrans sends a key and HIP does as well.).
HIP looks at what app is running (and to the front) it then looks to see what key combinations it should send for that particular app.

In the file I supplied Values1 are the keys/setups for PVRX2 and Values2 are for Media Player.

The latest version of Smartie also has an interface to IRTrans so it drives the LCD directly.

I have some .bat files that update some text files on what is recording/pending as well as a bit of system info for temperaures and disk space. I don't use any fancy stuff of what track is playing or anything like that.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

Thanks heaps... Will try tomorrow.

You state that you have a spare USB iMON.

Have you ever used the iMONVFD plug in for GVR?

Its great, gives full display info!

Have you ever successed in getting a MCE remote working with the plugin?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers
