Hi JW,

When MW is used with a large number (500+) movies, it has some speed issues on start up and switching between categories, even with "save images in db" enabled it is sluggish. Although moving sequentially through the movie list is responsive. Any suggestions on other setting to use to speed things up?

I've also noted that MW consumes a large amount of RAM when operating (300-400MB). I gather this is normal. My MovieWiz.db3 is about 30MB.

MW version 1.0.14.1 is the best yet. Keep up the great work.

I cannot confirm your first issue, my database & number of movies is around the same size and I see virtually no delay when starting up.
I never checked for the amount of RAM MV uses (got plenty :p) but talking about it: what amount would be considered 'normal' ?

If you could zip up your pvrx2.exe.log, I'll take a look. I may be able to speed up the category switching by tuning the sql, I'll take a look when I get back next week.

I have not noticed that type of memory consumption on my machine. I'm guessing if you have hi-res thumbnails that may account for some, but 300-400 mg seems excessive. Also make sure you have the most current WizUiHelper.DLL, there was a memory leak in a prior version.

I'll look into the memory usage next time I'm into the code to see if there is an issue.

I've included my pvrx2.exe.log file, zipped. To clarify, the first time MW is selected, it takes about 30 seconds to start up.

I'm curious to know what it is doing during that startup period.

Thanks,
Dan

It loads ALL items from the MovieWiz database to display the 'All Movies' category.

I'll take a look at speeding that up in the next version.
