Failed recordings under Vista

Hi,

Hoping someone could shed some light on this little thorny issue of mine!

I've been running GBPVR under Windows XP for ages, with no problems, with two Hauppauge cards, the PVR250 and Nova-S Plus.

Since upgrading to Vista Home Premium, I can't record successfully using the PVR250, I get large files of an unplayable format. I've downloaded the latest vista drivers from Hauppauge, but still no joy.

The log from the recording service shows the following error:

Using the Tuning Assistant returns a similar error. I can see images from the channel scan, but unsurprising there is no audio.

The card seems to work fine in Media Center.

Any help/pointers would be much appreciated!

I suspect the pin names may have changed in the Vista drivers. Run filtercheck.exe and post the log.

I'm using the Hauppauge PVR350, which is basicly the same card as the PVR250, without problems under Vista. I'm using the MCE 3.1G driver pack from Hauppauge. I hope this helps you out.

Pin names are fine so I'm not sure. You will probably have to post a full set of logs after experiencing the issue.

To be honest, I'm not really sure.

Have you shut down the MCE services so that it isnt using the PVR250? If not, then you will have problems.

That'll be it then! I didn't realise media center hogs the device when not in use, I hadn't touched it since my initial play after installing vista....
