I've got two Nova S Plus cards. They run through a splitter which in turn is connected to a signal amp and then on to the LNB. Or vice versa:

LNB --- Singal Amp --- Splitter --- 2 Nova S-Plus Cards.

The splitter has one of the outputs designated for power passthrough for the amp and LNB.

I've noticed that the card connected to the non-powered output will only pick up a signal when the one connected to the power output is being used. This seems to mean that when the Nova S Plus card is not being used, it does not send power to the amp and LNB. This is regardless of whether or not I enable the Power (?) in the config settings for the card. I've also got a Avermedia A700 card which does not exhibit this behaviour... i.e. it always sends power whether it's in use or not.

I don't know if there is something specific to the Nova S Plus cards, or if there's something I'm missing in the configuration of these cards. I guess a way around this is to purchase on of those "Diode" splitters where both outputs can provide power. Any suggestions?
Regards,
Hasso

I guess what I'm asking is whether or not the power coming out of the cards for the LNB can be switched on or off by GBPVR or is it just that some cards (like Nova S Plus) only have power turned on when in use, while others (like the Avermedia) have the power on all the time?

Hasso
