For a couple of days now I've been using the BGT3540 with the 1.1.5 release - no real issues, really very happy with it!

Just upgraded to 1.2.9, and had the install issues listed (and finally worked around...I think) here. However, now I come to scan channels I seem to get a crash every time, and that's with a vanilla 1.2.9 install and when setting up my Capture Source from the configuration dialogue as it is popped up near the end of the install (although I get the same if I attempt this later).

I have "BlackGold BGT3540 DVB-S" selected for my Device Type and I'm scanning "Astra 2A,2B,2D" with "DVB EPG Broadcast" set for the EPG Source. However, when scanning it gets through quite a few transponders and then I get this dialogue:

...scanning then continues in the background until I get this:

...from which I basically have to quit.

Logs are attached, and the text of the Application Error event has the following:

Code:
Config.exe
1.0.2990.23751
00000023
CLVsd.ax
8.1.0.1317
478f5800
c0000005
00040346

The substitution string for insert index (%1) could not be found

That seems to be crashing in 'CLVsd.ax', which is the Cyberlink video decoder, so I guess trying another decoder would be the first step.

You also seem to be missing a required filter, so you should run the re-registerfilters.bat file. If you're on vista you'll probably need to run this from an administrator command prompt.

Or it could be related to the problem from my thread where the scan breaks on ,S2 values. There are several DVB-S2 transponders on Astra 2.

Remove the ,S2 from the INI and try the scan again.

True - I must remember to add that to the survival guide...

BTW, I'm almost done with the changes concerning the DVB-S2 transponders. It's only for Astra1, Astra2, Astra3 and Hotbird 13.0e. Mainly since I can get those and check them Smile I'll upload them tomorrow!

Thanks for the quick replies chaps.

I've popped in the nativeutilities patch from the sticky, and now I can perform a scan without any sort of crash. However...

During the scan, although I get previews of channels in the right-hand window as GB-PVR finds them, and all is looking good, when the scan is complete I just get a "No channels found. Please check your signal and and configuration settings." dialogue. I can't remember if the "Channels found during scan" list updates as the scan progress in the previous version? If so, it doesn't during the scan when I'm using 1.2.9 now, and at the end of the scan it's empty...

Added Later

Sorry - forget that. I missed sub's advice about running re-registerfilters.bat - looks to be scanning and listing the channels now, but I've since had a crash whilst it has been doing it... I'll post details when I get a chance.

Thanks for your help chaps.

A combination of running re-registerfilters.bat and using the nativeutilities patch now has me a fully scanned list of channels from the Astra/Eurobird cluster with 1.2.9.

Post your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.
