Audio Captions on BBC HD?

I don't know if this is something I've changed or if it's something that's happened at the BBC, but I'm now getting audio captions (or whatever they're called) on BBC HD programs, i.e. someone narrating and explaining what's happening in the program.

Can anyone else who has a DVB-S tuner in the UK and can watch BBC HD confirm whether this is now happening for them on BBC HD please? Or have I somehow changed something and enabled this (if so, I've no idea what!)

Thanks. I had a nasty feeling it would be just me. Can I ask what audio codecs you're using?

It most likely meant there were multiple audio streams found when it scan for channels, and you mapped to the EPG channel to the one carrying captions.

Yeh, I agree - its very unlikely to be due to codecs (for a change).

OK, but I haven't scanned for channels in ages - it was done when gbpvr was installed and has been the same ever since - and this has (as far as I can tell) only just started happening. I'll do a re-scan though, and see if BBC HD appears more than once.

OK I asked the question on another forum and someone has replied saying that I need to select the correct audio stream, which is '2328' - so how do I do this? Is this going to appear as a completely different channel in the scan?

Hopefully I've fixed it - I had a look at source_channel_mapping and the tuning request for BBC HD was:

'T:10847,V,22000,56~NID:32~ONID:2~TSID:2050~P:6940~V:2327~VTYPE:H264~A:2329~L:NAR~PMT:258~TXT:2330~PCR:2327~N:>BBC HD'

...so I've changed that 2329 to 2328 and will see if that cures it...

Glad you got sorted.

It was what I'd indicated above. You'd selected the caption version of this channel when you'd initially mapped it.

Thanks - yep, I think I must have - although not sure how because I don't remember there being a choice. I'll report back if this hasn't worked!
