Hi there,
during install some questions came up.

I have the problem that prior to the import of the XMLTV data into GBPVR I must update the XMLTV data.
For that I must run a separate application.

I searched a bit in the forum and it´s stated that if a Batch file UpdateEPG.Bat exists this is executed prior to the EPG update of GBPVR.

I read in one post that it might not run.
Does is work properly in the most recent version ?

If I setup my PC to go into hibernate, is it restarted if the update is necessary ?

Another question :
What happens if a recording is running at the time where EPG update whould take place ?
Is the EPG Update started after the recording or during it ?

What must I do to hibernate my PC if it doesn´t record ?
What must I do that the computer restarts if a recording is scheduled ?
Is the restart at the exact starting time of the scheduled recording or some seconds or a minute earlier ?

Regards
Sven

Correct. GB-PVR can consume XMLTV files to provide EPG, but its your responsibility to generate the files.

Yes, you can use this if you wish to execute your XMLTV grabber. If it exist, it will be called immediately before GB-PVR updates the EPG.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]I read in one post that it might not run.Does is work properly in the most recent version ?
I'm not aware of anything that would stop it running.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]If I setup my PC to go into hibernate, is it restarted if the update is necessary ?
It'll wake the machine if you tick the check box in the config app.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]Another question :

It'll perform the update regardless if anything is recording. It only adds to the EPG. It doesnt remove or update anything that already exists.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]What must I do to hibernate my PC if it doesn´t record ?
I think Windows has some settings in the control panel which you can set to auto hibernate after x minutes of inactivity.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]What must I do that the computer restarts if a recording is scheduled ?
GB-PVR will always tell the windows power management components to wake the PC at the time a recording is scheduled. You may need to turn on some options in you bios to allow windows to automatically start your machine. You can test its working by using the regular windows scheduler tool.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]Is the restart at the exact starting time of the scheduled recording or some seconds or a minute earlier ?
It attempts to start the machine at the recording time minus the padding minutes (default 1 minute).

Cool, I never thought of that. I have used the Windows scheduler for this. I assume that the updating of the EPG waits until whatever I run in UpdateEPG finishes?
I'm not always right

I have done a small exe file in C# that opens a bat file. that bat files opens O2-graber -grab, after that it opens gbpvr.exe -update and when that is done it runs AddReOccuring. In config.exe I have added the .exe file under Custums task (so it has a button). Since it opens a bat file and closes the exe file the focus goes back on gbpvr(it means that 1 sec after I push the button I can acess gbpvr from the 350 tv out). That bat-file can be change if you use a diffrent graber or if you don't want to have AddReOccuring in it. E-mail me if you want it.
