I have everything connected, using latest software & firmware.

I'm following the instructions here, but when I go to add the tuner, "BDA Recording Source" is not an option.

The listings I have are: ExternalRecorder Plugin, Analog Recording Plugin, Analog High Def Recording Plugin, Digital Recording Plugin, and External Recorder Plugin (IRecordingSourceConfiguration).

Do I need to install another plugin?

HDHomeRun - ASTC via antenna
nVidia GeForce 8600GT

I renamed the plugins in this new release. The new names are easier for people to guess than "Direct Recording Plugin" for an analog device and "BDA Recording Plugin" for a digital device.

If you're setting up a digital capture device (ie, digial side of an HVR1600, or HDHomeRun etc), then yes choose 'Digital Recording Plugin'.

I dont see any digital devices listed in your signature though. The PVR500 would use the 'Analog Recording Plugin'.

I just bought an HDHomeRun today & am in the process of setting it up.

Haven't added it to my sig yet - since it's not up & running Big Grin

Almost there - I can record shows, but when I play back shows recorded from the HDHomeRun (or tune in live to one of the HDHomeRun), I get no sound in PVRX2.

However, if I play the recording back in VLC or WMP, sound is fine.

Also, I have screen set to 16:9 in Config, and my display is 16:9, but PVRX2 compresses the video to fit 4:3 aspect ratio. Again, playback is fine in VLC or WMP.

Any ideas?

If they play in VLC, but not in GB-PVR, then it probably means you dont have an AC3 capable directshow audio decoder installed. Try AC3 Filter.

A couple of things. You need to have the video decoder set to something other than 'system default' for the auto aspect ratio to work. Also press F7 to make sure you're in the 'auto' aspect ratio.

Thanks - installed AC3 Filter and after pressing F7, I realized I had it in pillarbox mode. Switched to auto & everything works fine - at least on my main box.

I didn't realize that HDHomeRun recordings were dvr-ms - any ideas as to how to stream them to my PS3?

WMP-11 counts them as "TV Recordings" and won't share, SimpleCenter doesn't recognize dvr-ms & for some reason, I couldn't get TVersity to work.

You could look into using the ATI or Cyberlink mux to get .mpg recordings, but most people in the US have found they need to stick with the DVR-MS mux to get decent recordings.

Using the TS mux would not do any good because the PS3 will not support DD5.1 in a TS container, only a PS container. And as sub mentioned, recordings are more reliable using the DVR-MS mux. You may be able to transcode the DVR-MS files and then stream them.
