I just got an HDHomeRun yesterday and thanks to sub & whurlston, I have it working. Unfortunately, I can't get my HD recordings to my HDTV.

I had planned to stream them to my PS3, but first ran into problems with the dvr-ms format. Next I tried the Cyberlink mux to record to mpeg, but WMP 11 won't even list my HD recordings in it's shared library on the PS3. I tried SimpleCenter & TVersity, and they show up, but when I try to play them on the PS3, it says the file is corrupted.

I can play them on the computer using PVRX2 & VLC (even WMP), but not on the playstation. This is a Gb ethernet connection, so I don't think bandwidth is an issue.

Any ideas?

I do not have HD content to stream to my PS3, but I tried this and it worked fine for music and video.

There are several streaming threads on AvsForum about streaming to PS3, you may want to check those out.

Thanks - I could not get TVersity to work at all. I installed the codec pack that came with it, but it would not play any of the mpegs from gbpvr.

Simplecenter played my recordings from the PVR-500, but would not play any mpegs from the HDHomeRun (I used the Cyberlink mux)

For the record, WMP & VLC play them fine (looks great on my 1920x1080 monitor), but I still have no way to get them to my st in the living room.

It's a shame, I didn't expect this part to be an issue. GBPVR works great with the HDHR, but for me w/o the ability to stream HD content to my living room, it was a wasted $170... Sad

I'll check out the AVS forum you linked to. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to play around any more & all my fiddling is impacting my WAF Smile

I moved this thread out of the support forum, since it is not directly related to GB-PVR

Your best bet may be looking at the AVSforums then. I know I have seen HD streaming talk on there to the PS3.

No experience myself with the PS3 and TVersity, but if you've not completely given up you could try recording in .TS format. Just pick the TS Mux option in gbpvr's config.

As I'm sure everyone else here has already realized, I just figured out that I'm an idiot Smile

The show I was attempting to stream was an hour long episode in 1080i (The Tonight Show). The PS3 uses FAT32, so I don't think it's possible to stream anything larger than 4GB to it...

Today's firmware update on PS3 states this..

Code:
* You can now play DivX and WMV format files that are over 2 GB. In addition, you can now display subtitles when viewing DivX files.

I don't know the format you were trying, but this may be a fix for you.

I was using MPEG's & 2.20 won't fix the 4GB limit - it is inherent to the FAT32 filesystem that the PS3 uses. Seems odd that they would use such a limited filesystem on a box they intended to be an all around media appliance.

This explains why the only movies you can download from the PSN store are trailers...

Just latched on to TVersity - I had tried setting up WMP 11 media sharing but for some reason, WMP would freeze after adding only a few files to the library.

TVersity was a snap in comparison and is working extremely well. Haven't found a file yet that won't play, but I don't have any HD stuff, either. The only thing that could be better would be a real GBPVR frontend for the PS3 (so comskip playback could work) but I'm not getting my hopes up. Definitely a slick solution as-is.
