I am posting this here because one of my users mentions he uses GBPVR and my application Intelliremote for controlling it so I thought I would post.

For an easier solution to map your MCE remote or Creative remote to use GBPVR you might want to look at Intelliremote. It is vastly simpler than EventGhost and Hip yet much more powerful and easy to configure. Want to start GBPVR with the Green Button? No problem. Want to have one set of remote mappings for GBPVR and a completely different set when you are in Itunes? No Problem. Intelliremote will even notice when you change applications and switch remote profiles for you.

Check it out...

I searched there forum but could not find any mention of GBPVR. I might try it out if I have some time this weekend. I doubt it with it being Easter though.

It'd be nice to have the gbpvr.xml profile available...

I started to look into it. I think it would have been nice if he included the gbpvr.xml file.

I found IR server to be easier to configure. But that's just me. I gues it was more intuitve to me. As I'm not interested in getting that deep into ALL the different options, I decided I would not invest anytime creating my own profile.

IR Server seems to have a more generic approach to any remote and seems to be easier to setup the blasting codes too.

Again, I didn't give Intelliremote a fair shakedown. But it seems to wee bit too late on the scene to catch my interest.

I'm just waiting with baited breath for IR Server to have sound control

It would be easy enough for me to create and include a GBPVR profile its just that most of my profiles have been user submitted. If anyone wants to submit one i would be more than happy to include it, they are really easy to create.

It definitely does seem to be far easier to setup and use that HIP. I'm not so sure about "more powerful", but definitely easier to use and quite "powerful" enough. I'm not realm stoked about having to pay $15, but I'm fed up with HIP and I'm about to switch over.

I would be more than happy to offer a free copy of Intelliremote for the first user who sends me a quality GBPVR profile for Intelliremote. They are relatively easy to make and you can make one with the trial version of Intelliremote. Just a thought...

Thanks to user Ed who was the first to donate a GBPVR profile which is now available for Intelliremote. Ed has received the free copy of Intelliremote.

Do you have plans to include support of the MCE blaster? It is needed for those of us that capture the output of STBs and don't want to have to go the route of the USB-UIRT.
