Hi everyone

Well I've dusted my MediaMVP and plugged it back in.

I've sorted out my network drive so it can access it.

However, I can't get it to play DivX either on mapped drive or local drive.

It's driving me crazy.

All that happens is I get a blank screen. I'm sure I've managed to get this to work in the past but I'm really struggling.

Is there some xml file I've got to alter or something? I've installed the latest version of GB-PVR.

Thanks

Nick

How fast is your server? The MVP can natively play .avi files, so it needs to try and convert them to MPEG2 on the fly. This cant be pretty CPU intensive.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

hi Sub...

I'm really confused with this one. I'm sure it worked last time without messing about.

Anyway, I've got a laptop running a 3.2GHz Intel with 1Gb RAM (exciting stuff 5 years ago when I bought it).

I've looked at TaskMan and nothing happening.

I then looked on the web and found out stuff regarding ZProcess. Wasn't sure if this was necessary but tried it anyway. Couldn't get it to load so finally threw in the towel and went to bed.

I should mention that running GBPVR on my computer will show the avi / divx film.

What am I missing?

Regards

Nick

I'm surprised that GBPVR has a tab for the MediaMVP but doesn't include these bits within its program so it can stream mpeg4 stuff to the MVP in mpeg2 format.

Anyway, do I need to remove the ZProcess2 stuff? It's not installed properly anyway.

Secondly how easy is it to install cyberlink?

Thanks

Nick

You don't down need any mux when using the mvp, by default it all goes through ffmpeg. Without the logs it is very difficult to diagnose remotely but by default the conversion to mpeg is done in C:\temp which doesn't exist on a lot of machines.

One thing you can do yourself is check the log where it will have the command line for running the conversion. If you run this from the command line you should be able to find most errors.

sorry, I'm at work so will check this tonight. I do remember reading something about the temp file. I know in the config that it's set the c:\temp but I've not checked to make sure the folder is there. I'm guessing GBPVR doesnt check either on install but I'll manually check it tonight.

Also how do I find the log file? I'm sure I'll work it out when I'm at home but just in case can you tell me to save time?

Look in "C:\Program Files\devnz\GBPVR\logs", and check first in the mvp-pvrx2.exe logs. If you don't see anything you will need to bump up the log level in config.exe to the debug level.

Martin.

Okay I'll have a look tonight. I'm assuming I should get ride of the ZProcess stuff.

Should GBPVR detect the use of MediaMVP and convert to compatible formats automatically?

well spotted... I knew what he was saying so skipped over that part Smile

anyway, do I need to remove the ZProcess thingie or is the needed?

should the correct procedure be:

Install GBPVR
Set up c:\temp folder
Install cyberlink mux

Bob's your uncle, MPEG4 files will decode and play on a MediaMVP.

Is it that simple or are there other steps and menu settings?
