How to setup ATI 650 PCI for QAM?

Can anyone help me with getting my ATI 650 PCI to work for QAM?

I configured my source as "digital recording plugin" for ATI 650 PRO (QAM).
When I connect my cable to "TV" connector of my card, TuningAssistant only picks up analog channels! If I connect the cable to the other (DTV/FM) connector TuningAssistant won't pick up any channels...

I am using Comcast basic Cable, but my TV has a QAM tuner and picks up many QAM channels, so I know that they are available.

Do I need to enter manual tuning requests to get QAM going? If so, how do I determine the values that need to be entered?

Does anybody have a ATI 650 PCI working for QAM? Any tips?

Connect the cable to the DTV input and click "Map digital channels to EPG channels" in the capture source config.

I tried that and received the following pop-up "GB-PVR was not able to start the BDA device you have configured...".

Update:
I had replaced my "qam.ini" file with a "us cable" one that was posted in one of the forum threads. After I re-installed the original "qam.ini", I was able to execute the "Map digital channels to EPG channels" option, but it did not find any channels...

Can you pm me your zip code and provider?

You should be receiving programming on the hrc frequencies which I believe are the ones scanned by the normal qam.ini

You should get something in the channel 81-116 range.

Can you zip and post your config*.log files after running a scan?

It fails to lock onto a signal. Do you have any splitters on your cable line? If so, try removing them.

It is detecting the signal but the quality is low. I'm guessing strength is low as well if they are using a 0-100 scale.

Does the software supplied with you ATI card pick up any QAM channels?

No, it does NOT and ATI never claimed that this card could receive QAM!
I started trying this set-up based on the thread of 5I4K3R "ATI Pro 650 working with QAM". In the thread it says "I'm tuning through a PCI version of the Built By ATI card. This is the old card that said nothing about doing QAM on the box. I bought it about a year ago at BB. I'm using the latest (7.12) drivers from the AMD/ATI website, and am running windows XP sp2."
I had my doubts whether this was going to work, but I wanted to give it a try.
