OK - setting up a new PC as a PVR. Jumped over all the hurdles. Right now, Windows Media Center works and I get live TV. GBPVR works, as far as my media library, playing DVD's, etc. What I cannot get to work is live TV. When I click on it, the screen fades out and right back to the main menu.

I know you'll need more info. So what do I need to post? Not sure how to get a log from GBPVR.

Thanks in advance!

The logs are automatically produced in the "logs" subdirectory. Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

The problem is caused by the channel changer you're configured your capture source to use. I dont advise using the built in MCE IR Blaster. Instead use HIP or IR Server Suite.

I swear, I'm going to be bald when this is all over, from pulling all my hair out!

I got halfway through the HIP setup, and where it asks you to press a button on the remote. Nothing. AAAARRGGHHH!

Not sure. Came with Vista Home Premium PC. Capture card is Avermedia M780.

UPDATE: Giving up for the night - have to be up in 4 1/2 hours!!! Live TV now works, but the remote does not.

The components of my computer are listed on this page:

http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/100944...0cl3.shtml

They list two different remotes:
8015953R - Gateway Media Center Remote Control For Windows Vista
8015954R - Gateway Media Center Remote Control For Windows Vista

But the links to specfications and images go to the same pages for both remotes, so I'm not sure what the difference is between part numbers.

I selected .exe for the channel changer, installed HIP, and ran through the instructions in the Hip Guide here:
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/HipGuide

Got about halfway through, down to "Adding GBPVR Commands to HIP". When it prompted for me to press a button, I got nothing.

Really stuck here - please help!

Did you install the replacement driver or change the required registry settings to allow HIP to take control. I do not use Vista but I know on XP I have found it better to just make the registry changes. Also if you can not get HIP to work have a look here for another program.http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...rver+suite
