I have 2 AVI files that I spliced like this:
Code:
copy /b file1+file2 file3

The video codec reads DX50
The audio codec reads a52

Will I have timing issues?

Somebody posted that you could us mencoder to fix MPG timing issues. Can you do the same with avi? If so, what would be the command(s)?

I'd be surprised if it plays at all. I never heard of combining avis like that. It can be done with mpg's, sometimes, with varying succes.

Edit: there are several programs that will do what you want. Take a look on: http://www.videohelp.com

mencoder can combine the files also...just supply multiple input files [in order] and use 'copy' for codecs..Smile

ffmpeg can too..

just must be same size/framerate,etc..

You'll most likely want to reindex the AVI was well otherwise FF/REW won't work very well.
