Hello,
Is there any way of getting the current menu item as I'm scrolling the menu, entering submenus, selecting menu items etc either by event notification or timed query?

Is there no way of querying the skin or gui the current menu position? How does the skin know which icon to load for each menu item?

No, its not currently possible.

The skin doesnt show anything, it just provides pictures etc that the menu code can load and show on the screen. That info about the selected item just isnt currently accessable outside of the private GB-PVR code. I could look into adding it in the future, but before then its not currently possible.
