One of these:
2.4GHz Wireless A/V Receiver with Infrared Remote

I presume it transmits Component signals at best but I wouldn't be surprised if it only managed composite, in which case no good for my needs Smile

But if it did do Component or SVideo it would be great as a cheap quick way to hook my (noisy) Desktop PC to the Plasma while I get my HTPC organised.

Quote:Use your cable, TV, CD, DVD remote to change channels, volume and settings from the receiver end of this 2.4GHz system.
Features a phase-locked loop (PLL) electronic circuit that constantly adjusts, locking onto any input signal and avoiding any reception drift. Send stereo audio and video pictures around your home, shop or office, allowing you to watch video or listen to hi-fi quality stereo sound anywhere. Send surveillance camera images to another part of the building. All without the need to run cables.
The refreshing new compact design incorporates the 2.4GHz dipole antenna and has 4 selectable channels.
* Transmits a crisp audio and/or video signal using radio frequency
Comes as single receiver and transmitter with individual power supplies. Additional receivers are available separately and allow reception at multiple viewing locations.
Specifications
Frequency 2400MHz
Sender 9V, 90mA, 10dBm
Receiver 9V, 200mA, -85dBm
Dimensions 117H x 66W x 125D(mm)

I haven't seen that particular device, but in the UK, at around that price they are all composite video and TBH fairly crap at what they do. The one I tried suffered with a noisly picture and unreliable remote operation.

If you just want video and remote control to a small TV in the bedroom, then maybe.....

Well I tried it today

Well I tried it out - results were way better than I expected Smile

As expected only manages Composite which is useful for testing.

It has a infrared repeater - this worked perfectly much to my surprise, my MCE remote worked without any tweaking needed at all.

The video quality is surprisingly good, pretty much the same as hooking up a
pc via Composite direct to a TV. Since I have a HD Plasma (Panasonic) it looks poor in comparison to the HD channels but its perfectly watchable.

I tested both GBPVR and MythTV (Linux), myth/X had issues with the aspect ratio, GBPVR was fine.

The device transfers stereo sound as well via twin RCA connections, this
worked without a hitch.

In summary, if you were just using a std CRT TV this would be a great
solution, the same as hooking your htpc directly to the TV, only without
the need make it silent etc. Its also usefull for playing with on your
desktop without transferring the PC into the living room.
