When I replace my MVP by a NMT what is the playbackquality goint to be? Is it exact the same as when i use PVRX2 on a tft pc monitor or is it the same as the good old MVP? Thus without the new intorface and so on?
Regards!

Should be pretty similar to the MVP (which in my case is better than the output i get from my ATi x550 card) - but this is on a 28" CRT Tele.

Not sure about what you "new interface" comment means? You can get the gbpvr interface on the nmt, but what you will loose is the on screen display while playing provided by gbpvr and display and control of music while playing.

The picture quality into a HD plasma/lcd TV is very good indeed. You won't be disappointed (I hope!!).

Having never experienced an MVP, I cant compare. But from my experience, it always depends on what you are watching. for example: if you used to watch anything which was in a format that the MVP could handle natively (mkv, h.264, etc.) it was being transcoded before being sent to the MVP, which is always going to result in some loss of quality. you should see better results with these types of files, since they are handled natively by the NMT. I have been extremely happy with the picture quality from my NMT, which is hooked up to a 32" LCD via HDMI.

I believe the picture is much better on the PCH, since the MediaMVP is too dark. I've got both connected with scart (the PCH with a svideo to scart plug) and I believe the PCH is sharper too. The MediaMVP always looks a litle 'wazig' (blurry in English I think) in my opinion.

I agree with Chris, the OSD menus on the PCH at SD have more vibrant colours and better definition. For video it took a bit of getting used because I was used to the darker MVP but now when I use the PCH more the MVP video is inferior.

I think some people who have played with the mpeg source files using Hauppauge tweaks or Zprocess to adjust for the mvp's colour might be disappointed, but the PCH does offer adjusting the colour from the remote control.

Obviously playing HD content on an HD screen there is no comparison. On the other hand SD content on an HD monitor is not always as good as conventional SD analog to a good CRT even with up conversion to 1080p.

well, that all depends on how good your upscaler is (or your TV in general). I have been super happy with the upscaling engine on my Westinghouse, but my brother's Sylvania, not so much. As for the PCH, I think the upscaling is pretty high quality, because most of the stuff I have been watching is in SD (progressive scan though), and it looks wonderful on the screen.
